How would you describe your teaching style?
I try to engage students by creating an atmosphere where everyone is an active member of the learning environment. I am a more effective teacher when students help teach each other.

When did you know you wanted to become a teacher?
I had a desire to become a teacher/coach when I was in high school. I had coaches and teachers who inspired me, and I wanted to have a similar impact on students.

What is your favorite lesson/unit to teach?
I enjoy teaching one-step equations and euchre.

What is your greatest challenge in teaching?
My greatest challenge is creating passion for learning mathematics in students who do not like math.

If you could have a career other than a teacher, what would it be?
I would be a professional golf caddie.

What’s something your students probably don’t know about you?
My students do not know that I like to cook. I spend a lot of time grilling.

If a student were to remember something about your class 50 years from now, what do you hope it would be?
I hope that they understand with passion and discipline, they can achieve their goals in life.
